Going With the Flow

In a mood entirely unusual for me, I felt the urge to travel to the water. I enjoy showers but that's about as watery as I get. But when I met up with my friend Laurie and she recommended places we could visit together- after a delightful lunch- I seconded something watery.

So we wound up at an Old Lyme preserve; a delightful easy walk (especially after a hearty lunch!) that wound peacefully through trees and an open meadow and finally arrived at an inlet of Long Island Sound. It was lovely.

There was water... lovely peaceful, slowly rippling water. And rocks and birds and quiet. It was exactly what I needed. As seen in the picture above, there was small rocky islands and there were birds chasing each other. Hawks and Kingfishers and Terns and Seagulls... it was quite magic and relaxing.

I don't know about anyone else, but these last few weeks- nay months! have been extraordinarily stressful and fucking crazy. Maybe we all need a trip to the tidal marshes. Yikes.

 

Why Me?

 

Why me? Why have I, one the leftiest of the left, received a Ronald Reagan 2026 calendar!??! And they're seeking a donation to some ultra-conservative camp for (unfortunate) right-wing brain-washed children!! Yikes.

It gets worse. Lookee at some of these dreary photos; poor horse!!

And look at his toes sticking out!! hahahaha!! One's toes should turn very slightly inwards to the horse... Bob couldn't think of Reagan's nickname, and said, "Wasn't he called something like "Gibbons?" I believe he was thinking of monkeys...

Oy! A fucking "schoolhouse for Reaganism". Just what we need! To be reminded of where all this bullshit "populist" conservatism and the dread Neo-Cons began?!!?!? Although Mr. Reagan would no doubt not even recognize his own party, what with the orange menace cozying up to Putin. What a crazy world we live in.

But here's the worst picture yet. Don't blame me! This was sent- unprovoked!!- to our house. What have I done to deserve this?!?!!?
